The Lord, the abode of all wealth and forms, the embodiment of truth and righteousness, did not falter in the battle for the path of the righteous.

Chapter 5 · Verse 166

The all-pervading fire, the divine energy, comes forth from afar, carried by the sacred hymn. You are seized by this divine power, this is your vessel; I offer you to the all-pervading fire.
He is the protector of the world, the consecrator of the rains, the leader of the seasons, the sustainer of the heavens, and the provider for the human world. He is the one who crushes for sacrifice, and the one who shines for glory.
The pure, purifying Agni, the priest of the sacrifice, is invoked for the great offering. You are seized for Agni, for your brilliance; this is your place, for your brilliance.
For truth, the thief's heart; for enmity, the slanderer; for solitude, the one who abandons; for the witness, the follower; for strength, the attendant; for the earth, the adornment; for the beloved, the flatterer; for the divine realm, the portion-taker; for the elder, the surrounder.
The divine seed is sown in the fertile womb of creation, and through the power of sacred utterance, abundance is brought forth. May this harvest of spiritual understanding ripen and be readily accessible to us.
May the great Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt, the sixteenth deity, bestow peace and destroy sins and enemies. You are grasped by the divine power, this is your origin for Mahendra; I offer you to Indra.
The mind, when disciplined, becomes the source of peace, not anger; it is the instrument for union, not sorrow; it leads to well-being, not disgrace; it is the treasury of virtue, not ruin; it is the adornment of the body, not its shame; it is the sculptor of character, not its destroyer; it is the guardian of wealth, not its squanderer.
To Yama, the lord of death, I offer this prayer, seeking protection throughout the year, so that I may be free from all obstacles and achieve my goals.
I consider Agni, the priest and giver, the wealthy one, to be the fire. He is the knower of all births, the radiant one, the wise one, the knower of all births.
O Agni, you are our protector and bestower of blessings, a radiant and powerful friend. May you lead us to abundant wealth and prosperity.

May the swift horse grant us abundant cattle and a strong son, and may Aditi bestow upon us freedom from sin. May the horse grant us a fertile field and the worshipper, abundance.
In Me, your senses, though vast, and your intellect, O Indra, are established. In Me, the sacrifice also shines with glory, with the brilliance of Brahman.

I ask you, O mind, if you have wandered here with intention, when Vishnu, the divine friend, entered the world with his arrows, what obstacle did he encounter?
Indra, with all the gods, the Adityas, and the Maruts, has established these worlds. May Indra, along with his retinue, grant us healing, protect our sacrifice and lineage, and bestow progeny upon us.
You are the year, the cycle of years, the passing year, and the year itself. May days and nights, seasons and months, and moments align for you. May you be established as the divine, unwavering gold.

May these potent herbs, rich with beneficial fruits, be received by you. May this offspring, born in due season, be present in your assembly.
Chapter 5 · Verse 186
O Agni, do not harm the swift horses that express vitality with their neighing. Instead, let your fiery form grow by consuming harmful wild beasts. May your wrath afflict those animals that damage crops and those we do not cherish.
O Agni, you are our infinite, knowing, and benevolent protector. May you, the radiant fire, bestow upon us abundant wealth and brilliant light. We invoke you, our friend, for prosperity and well-being.
You are consciousness, mind, and steadfastness; you are generosity and strength, the divine mother, and fearlessness. May you, who are ever-present and welcoming, grant us prosperity and sustenance, binding us to Indra for our nourishment and vision.
O powerful one, with your radiant might, crush our enemies. Lead us forward in the path of the well-invoked.

O Agni, may you not harm the thousand streams and hundred springs flowing within the river, which nourishes like Aditi. May you hear our prayers for cattle, and may our enemies hear our strength.
The Supreme Being entered the body, and all beings are established in Him. This is the form of Brahman, the ultimate reality; what else can be spoken of here?
O waters, you are the source of nourishment and strength, bestowing joy and radiance.

O Agni, do not harm the navel of Varuna, the skin of two-footed and four-footed creatures, the first-born of all beings. I grant you vast wilderness; may you rest there, nourished. May you hear all that is vast, and may our enemies hear it too.

From Agni, born of sorrow, the Unborn One arose. Seeing his creator, the gods attained divinity and immortality. May the forest deer hear you, and through it, may you be consumed by the one we hate.

He who, by His greatness, saw the waters, giving birth to sacrifice, and who is the supreme God among gods, to that God alone we offer oblations with devotion.
O friends, let us rise and move forward, for the chariot of the sun is ascending. Let us cast aside all that is inauspicious and ascend to the heavens, to receive nourishment.
By the divine will of Savitr, with the strength of the Ashvins and the grace of Pushan, I grasp this. I sever the necks of Rakshasas for your protection, for the earth, and for the well-being of all. You are the offering of the ancestors.
